Situation:
Given neurobiologist Saludor Narubo has been working at an independent facility on Taris , on vaccines to counter virulent diseases. Imperials are planning to move him to a different site where he can work on Chemical and Biological agents to raze planets. The rebellion would prefer to have him continue to work with them. {Classified: his name has shown up on the list retrieved from Durace. His attitude and leanings are unknown. }

He is to be moved from the current facility in 4 days. Rebel analysis indicates the best means is to rescue him from the imperials just as he leaves the laboratory complex, as that is both where he works and lives.
Taris is an independent planet that has no strong imperial presence. Party to go undercover. Imperials also maintain a low profile.

After Action Iridonia

Situation:
Rebel secret training facility on Iridonia threatened. Mandalorean Protectorate have a base, and share the training facility. Imperials have discovered Mandalorean Protectorate. Rebels have lost people to the imperial attack. Support needed.

Mission:
Extract rebels if required. Maintain training facility if possible. Provide aid to Mandaloreans if it won’t jeopardize rebels. Rebel on the ground determine actions needed.

Support rebels on Iridonia whose training facility is possibly threated by Empire. Extraction, or other support as they require. Mandalorean Protectorate personnel also share the facility as they are trying to take back Mandalore – base and training.

Accomplished – mission:
1. Support for the Rebels at the Iridonia Training Facility provided. Ground attack from the Empire fended off.
2. Rebel troops at the facility were put in jeopardy as they were compromised through the connection with the Mandalorean Protectorate “leader” Tanar – who is an Imperial. Rebels and their equipment were evacuated with Alaria.
3. Mandalorean Protectorate personnel who survived the Imperial enslaving process were rescued. (19) They and their equipment was evacuated on the freighter with Alaria.
4. Mandalorean mercenary trooops who were part of the Communications Relay attack who survived were rescued. (11)
5. All Mandalorian Protectorate and their equipment was transferred to the Pride of Mandalore.

Duqua

Kallis, Tav, Venn, Duran – level 8 Day – level 7

Kallis Kadio, Tav, Venn Damos, Duran, and Day (in absentia) are at the Mandalorean Protectorate (MP) base co-located with the rebel training facility on Iridonia.

They have just succeeded in eliminating a two pronged attack (AT-STs, Armoured Ground Cars, and a Command Speeder) who were there to capture the MPs at the base. This included the MPs the Imperials had enslaved, who had been rescued by the MPs and brought there for safety.

The party leaves in and AT-ST and the Command Speeder to recover the rebels who were part of the three pronged attack force that was to take out the communications relay station located the other side of Warton. They locate Group 1, made up of MPs, killed, with the leader gone, stripped and left. Light sabre burns, boulder crushing and blaster fire took them out.

They split at this point. The Command Speeder (Tav and Kallis and Day) follow the speeder that left the scene of the killing. The AT-ST (Duran and Venn) meet Group 2, who do not look like the MPs they are supposed to meet. Group 2 is made up of Imperials. They succeed in taking Group 2 prisoner and returning them to the MP base. They ready the rebels and MPs for an evacuation. It is clear that the base and training facility have been compromised.

Venn and Duran leave in the AT-ST to find Group 3 to completely evacuate the remaining rebels. They discover Group 3 killed, and the communications relay station completely operational. 10 Mandaloreans who were on the Comm Relay attack are missing.

Tav and Kallis succeed in finding the speeder in Warton. They arrive at the deserted hangar, just as a shuttle bearing Tanar (leader of the MP attack on the Comm Relay Stn who appears to be a Sith – dark jedi who has turned on the MPs) leaves. They are left fighting Duqua, an MP team lead who was considering turning from his jedi past to join Tanar in his imperial work. Between the speeder and Tav’s weapons, they kill Duqua. There is a light freighter they can use to follow Tanar to the MP ship just arrived into orbit.

They decide to see if Alaria can safely collect the rebels and MPs at the base and take them to safety past the Imperial and Customs net, while they chase down Tanar – who has abducted the MP mercenaries.

Empire makes its move

ISB actions

ISB mandate is to bring Kuat under Imperial wing, with KSF replaced by Empire troops, and Kuat nationalized. Loyalty to the Empire.

ISB is looking for levers to pry open KDY and KSF.

Loss of a section of imperial troops with no explanation

KSF on the hook for this one Starsky/ McNaulty.

Fern Tao (Mel Port‘s pseudonym for catching rebels) is who Day gets hold of to come to Kuat from Iridonia. Fern contacted his imperial contact Lt Nadir. Lt Nadir made a deal with KSF where Mel Port should be released to Empire. KSF brings Mel to the meeting still in their custody. Mel to meet Day and hand him over to the Empire, at which point Lt Nadir will take over custody of Mel.] Lt Belton Nadir disappeared along with experienced Sgt (storm trooper) and 6 troops.
ISB’s understanding of the reports and he needs confirmation. Lt Nadir agreed to release Fern Tao on his own recognizance should Fern Tao make an acceptable arrangement for capture of a rebel spy, named Day. It appears Lt Nadir contacted KSF agent McNaulty for information with regards to Fern Tao.

Tarrant is unavailable.

KSF afraid of the politics. They may get taken over, wiped out with Empire there instead. Starsky calls Path to make sure story is straight, and to make sure the KDY end (Pilot – Navik, Tarrant and his boys – Charlie, Echo, Victor, Tango, Path, etc) is all sewn up. McNaulty is in the spotlight. No leaks.

KSF contacts Fer Kuat to make sure KDY is aware, since this seems counter to the Moff’s assertions.

Dragon Project and others behind schedule

Imperial troops will take the entire Dragon Project team to refresh their loyalty to the Empire. Entire teams will be taken to be questioned, educated, re-trained by Compnor.

Lt(N) Garn Benndill disappeared.

A productive man. Where is he? KDY could be in the soup. Where is his ship? Experimental TIE fighter.

Investigator comes to meet all QA types from Garn Benndill’s time. QA Team and also Lapis Myrtle, Path’s analyst Gorr Fen’swee, M3P0, again Roah, all replacements for those incarcerated, all those incarcerated. Same facility used to question all connected.

Kuat takedown plans

Rebel Cell has a number of initiatives to disrupt Kuat:

JAM THE ARDENT

The Ardent (see Starships has been rigged up by the party to prevent the Imperial Commander Anton Kale in Kuat System from being able to communicate out. When a predetermined code – meaningless to humans, but meaningful to the switch installed in the jamming device – is received the device will switch on, blocking the comm systems of The Ardent and any ships near it – within 6 sq starship scale. (See Scum p57)

No off switch was installed in this device. There really wouldn’t be much point.

DOCKING BAY CLAMPS

The clamps of all major construction yards (especially those making star destroyers) have been systematically sabotaged by roving QA teams that were filled with rebels. Similar to the Ardent’s jamming, when a predetermined code is transmitted through the system, small installed receivers will activate and open all docking clamps.

This should result in billions of credits worth of ships floating through the system, not to mention turning the place into a total disaster to navigate.

DECEPTION

Duran is setting up to forge and plant documents on Laylee. They will show that the Zann Consortium has acquired starships with the same statistics as the Rebel Corvettes coming in system (from Incom). Laylee is to have these documents on her when she is compromised. KSF is to find them. Duran will put those documents and a couple of others together. (Forgery check more than passed!)

KILL-SWITCH

While this has only been programmed into Shesh shipyards, this is yet another “send the code, do the damage” program. In this case, a sleeping program in their computer systems that will disable all of Shesh shipyard’s systems apart from those needed for life support. This will probably have little effect on the systems ability to defend itself, but will add even more to the chaos.

FIRESPRAYS

Operation Swordfish

Acquire

QA team (Alaria, Tarrant, Roah) are increasing the quality requirements for Firesprays. Those that aren’t acceptable are “recycled”. They are also using higher quality standards to divert the appropriate materials to fill the Firespray cargo holds with items valuable to the Rebellion.

Store

Path has arranged with Mar Shesh to have a docking bay available for the reclaimed Firesprays. Sufficient are being gathered for the cell to leave at the right time.

Coordinates

Navik has set up a daily update from the Holonet for the galactic map for astro-navigation for hyperspace jump coordinates. He uses the Holonet tap to capture the information. The firesprays will download the information so there is updated info.

Number of ships

Firesprays acquired: Path wanted 6 of them. See Starships. Need names for the remainder. Are there enough of them? Enough for players? or cell?

Security codes

Still to be determined how to get the security codes needed.

Kim Smith was part of a team visiting the Kuat system Moff.
The rumour that the empire is nationalizing Incom is disturbing to the KDY.
The KDY group meets the Moff. With sufficient diplomacy check, they are assured this action will not affect them, the Empire has good relations with KDY, KDY is doing their work on Imperial contracts. They are open to sharing their R&D with the Empire, QA has been superlative. Moff Kuras understands there has been a shakeup in the QA structure???
The empire is generally moving to protect assets with the increased threat from fringe elements.

Infiltration Mathilde Holonet pirating

Party successfully infiltrates the main installation on Mathildeafter disembarking from the weekly supply freighter they stowed away on.
Duran assumes the identity of SubLt Nephr Sindtyver, after Venn accidentally kills the SubLt and they dispose of him down a turbolift shaft.
Roah, Path, and Navik each go their own way as the party attempts to find the way into the asteroid itself, where the holonet transceivers are located.
They regroup on the command level, where Duran encounters his “superior” Lt (N) Moore Geste briefly. She tasks him with sending out a ground veh to take troops from the Comm Array to the external storage and ammo depot. He agrees to do it in a few minutes.
They head deeper into the asteroid with Nephr’s id, and succeed in stealthing their way past the manned guard post. They pull of an awesome stealth skill encounter, where they trick the guards into opening the door through into the asteroid, while passing through without getting caught. There they are met with six possible tunnels. Two they have been up on their previous visit – first left unknown, second left is the Communications Array on the surface, third is a maintenance passage to the external storage area and the shield generator, fourth is a manned guarded entrance, fifth is the passage that appears to head deeper into the asteroid, sixth is the passage they took to the holonet transceiver on their first visit.
They take the first left, and trip the sensors that detect identification in the maintenance tunnel paralleling the main passage to the 2nd holonet transceiver.
At the end of the evening, the party is split, with Venn and Duran following a section of guards, two groups Sgt +3 tps ahead, and Cpl + 3 tps behind investigating the increased alert status.
Path, Roah, and Navik are right at the guard station, next to the door to the holonet transceiver. They are in the maintenance tunnel. There are three guards further down it, who didn’t see them as they went on past to investigate the security breach.
Roah used his light sabre to kill a guard. Navik shot out the comms, and Path used autofire to kill the four remaining guards. Although the asteroid is on high alert, and there is an identified problem, no communications have come from the guard post, no one alive has seen the party.

Next step planned is to use the lightsabre to open the door to the holonet transceiver.
